Ever wondered what different kinds of trades and groups make up our local?
Let me start with introducing the Contamination monitors.
A small group of 4 musketeers I have known for a long time working at the Whiteshell location. Every working day they pick up laundry from all over the site; clothes used in the hot cells or out on projects including shop clothe,- monitor, sort, wash, dry – then return them the next day. All part of keeping personal protective equipment and clothing clean and safe, but it doesn’t end there.

L-R Sherry Parisian, Allan Flood, Suzanne Laurin, Denny Grzegorzewski
They are responsible for decontamination of rubber boots, material and equipment- Decontamination and reassembly of vacuums as well as operating the bag monitor for survey and release of all likely clean waste from the site, decontamination and reassembly of all respirators and of course respirator fit testing, who can forget the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow….
This teams dedication and hard work is appreciated by all !
